Help!!!what do i do???i found a puppy in my front yard??
Keep it, take it to a shelter, or call your dog control offocer.
Reply:How old are you? If you are a kid, then have your mom or dad go door to door and see if they can find the owner.

If they can't find the owner, call a NO-KILL shelter so that they can take the dog and find it a good home.

Reply:Take it to the shelter or vet to see if it has a microchip. Put up signs and posters trying to find her home. If no one responds, then she is yours. Take good care of her.
Reply:Keep it or give it to someone! Don't let it suffer...I'd say keep it. Puppies need luv and care too :))))
Reply:1) Attempt to find owners by placing flyers, calling shelters to see if anyone has come by asking etc.

2) Decide whether you wish to keep it or not. (after owner's have not been located)

3) If you decide to keep it go out and invest in puppy classes, toys, high-quality food and a crate.
Reply:take to a shelter and ask to if they can find its owner and hav a look on its collar if it has a NAME and a PHONE NUMBER
Reply:Before deciding to keep the puppy, I would post found signs of it around the neighborhood because some could have lost him and really be missing him. Take him to a local vet to find out if he is microchipped, because this will save alot of time and effort. If no one calls for it in about a month or so, then you and your family should decide if you want to keep the puppy, and accept the large responsibility of having it. But please post signs around, because it really is a terrible feeling of loosing a pet, and who knows, their may be a reward for him. If not a monetary reward, you may feel the reward of pride of doing such a great thing.
Reply:If you can keep the puppy, then keep him. If you can't, put some flyer's up and see if anyone claims him. Give it about a week or two, and if no one does, then take him to the Vet and see if you can keep him. Also, please remember that if you keep the puppy, make sure your ready for one.
Reply:take its picture and make flyers to put up

put an ad in the paper -usually free for found animals

call a local NO KILL shelter and find out if they have room

if no one claims it, ask around to see if anyone has been looking to adopt - call vets offices, put flyers there too

or get permission to adopt it if you can afford to take care of it for its whole life
Reply:Call your local shelter and animal control to see if anyone has reported a missing dog. Since it was wearing a collar, presumably it has an owner and is not a dog that was just dumped off.
Reply:put up some flyers saying dog found all around your neighborhood. also you can put and ad in the paper. if no one calls, then i guess he's a early christmas present. just feed him well and take care of him, and im sure you will love you.
Reply:Post up Found flyers, post on Craigslist or other local sites, and check with your newspaper Lost/Found ads because many papers will let you do free found ads. Also, you can take it to a vet or shelter and they will scan it for a microchip. Make sure if someone calls you about their pup that they can identify it (like by its blue collar and the color and personality of the dog)!
Reply:Put up some signs to find the rightful owner. If nobody claims it, either keep it or take it to the shelter.

Pleas keep it though. no dog enjoys being put into a shelter.
Reply:First try and find the owners. If that doesn't work keep it if you can. If not, go to a shelter or even a vet to check for any identification chips and the like. However, I'd really try keeping it,

this puppy showed up on you porch for a reason. After all, we all deserve a loving family where we can feel loved and safe. I know from personal experience because I found a stray cat in my backyard. We decided to keep her and she's great, get along with my dog and everything. Anyway, I hope this helps you.
Reply:If there is no ID tag you have 2 choices keepit or take it to the ASPCA. I would keep it but I'm a softy
Reply:you need to call animal control and in the mean time try and find the owner call every one around you place signs my daughter just went there this they had been very mistreated she took them to the vet on Monday they didn't have any micro chips was about 25 lbs under weight and the collar had grown into there neck they had what looked like ring worm and the ears are one over 1/2 of each ear was dead from something and it had ear infection and was running a fever and by the time animal control showed up on Tues she have cared for them 24 hours a day from Sunday she fell in love with them and wanted to foster them till she could adopt them it ended up being a big mess but any way it looks the one who mistreated them will get them back she was so hurt so don't fall in love with it
Reply:If it had a collar then it is definately someones puppy, put up found posters around your neighborhood and at a shelter or veterinary office(that's where people often go looking for their pets) with a picture of the puppy on it and your phone number and keep the puppy until you find the owner. After a few weeks if you still havn't found the owner give the puppy to a shelter like the SPCA where they do NOT uthinize dogs or if your ok with keeping it keep the puppy. Also you should take it in to your veterinarian to make sure it is healthy.
