I dont know about puppies, but kittens do lose their "baby" teeth. It's rarely noticed because the kitten will usually swallow the tooth once it has come loose. I thought that the were permanent too, until my latest kitten (now cat) wouldn't have anything to do with swallowing those lost teeth. I stepped out of beed one morning and stomped on something hard and sharp. I picked it up and sure enough it was one of her fangs. I mildly freaked out, thinking that something terrible had happened to her during the night, but after the hurried visit to the vet, I was assured that this was normal. And sure enough a few weeks later she had a brand new fang protruding from the emptied socket. This happened when she was about 5-6 months old. The new fang wasn't quite as sharp are the previous fang. Now that she's about 4yrs old, all of her teeth have been replaced with the adult set and she's doing just fine.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
Do kittens and puppies lose their teeth like babies?
puppies yes, cats not sure. my 6 month old puppy is starting to lose some of hers
Reply:All mammals do this, and teething puppies and kittens can be very destructive.
Reply:yes, maybe not ALL of them, but I actually had to have my dog's puppy teeth pulled because they wouldn't fwll out..
Reply:Yes, they lose a few, but not a lot like humans. If your puppy/kitten loses a tooth it's nothing to worry about. If it loses teeth past like 2 years of age though, I'd talk with the vet.
Reply:They sure do!
Reply:Yes. I've had both kittens and puppies and they both lose their teeth just like humans do.
Reply:Yes! We started freaking out when my kittens lost their teeth! They grow back in really quickly though. My cats are about 5 months old maybe 6
Reply:Yes, they do. Puppies and kittens are born with milk teeth, and they fall out and are replaced by adult teeth as they're being weaned off of mother's milk and starting to eat solid foods.
Reply:No they have on set there whole life.
