My puppy has an adult tooth coming in, but the baby tooth hasn't fallen out yet. Is this normal?

It is one of his long teeth, it's coming in right behind the baby tooth.

It's OK, it will be pushed out as the new tooth comes in.

If the tooth has not come out by 8 months, the vet can pull it out so the big teeth will grow into the right place.
Reply:Just like children, this happens from time to time. It's not a big issue. The new tooth will push the old one out.
Reply:You have to get the baby tooth out because it could cause bad problems for the dog.You must have it pulled by a vet if it dont come out.My vet told me this .
Reply:It's ok. As soon as the baby tooth comes out the adult tooth will sloowly come to it's rightfull place. And mail me if u can. Because i have no more friends in my e-mail address...
Reply:Yes, it's normal. The adult tooth will just push the baby tooth out.
Reply:it's pretty common, especially in smaller breeds. Usually if you have the dog spayed or neutered at around six months they'll remove the retained baby teeth then...if you don't neuter him...then you'll need to have the tooth removed anyway...but it's simple, and common.
Reply:Sometimes they don't come out at all, and sometimes it is a year later or more. The vet can sedate the dog and pull them if need be. I asked my vet to pull baby teeth when my dog was altered. On another dog, we had to go back at 1 year and have him sedated to get them pulled because he as altered too early to pull them. Most dogs loose them, but not all, especially in flatter faced breeds.
