Is it common for puppies to lose their teeth ?

I have a 5 month old beagle. For the last couple of weeks I have been finding his teeth (4) as of today. He is chewing on everything in the house. When he does this there is blood on the object. I have never had a house dog before, so I am not aware of this happening with other dogs that I have had.

Is it common for puppies to lose their teeth ?
Yes, little dogs lose their teeth just like little humans. If there is a lot of blood, see a vet. Otherwise, he will be fine.
Reply:Yes, just like children lose their teeth to make room for adult teeth. Not a big deal unless you don't see the new teeth coming in soon.
Reply:Of course...all babies lose their first teeth.

Watch where you are walking though, those little teeth are sharp!
Reply:Yup, just like kittens and baby humans, they are born with a baby set of teeth.
Reply:yes. puppies and kittens loose their baby teeth just like people. If they are active chewers, you'll get the blood just like a toddler that pulls out a loose tooth too soon. Usually the pet will swallow the teeth, which is why many people don't notice the transistion. Unless he stops eating or seems to be in pain, I wouldn't worry.
Reply:Of course like all babies they are born with a set of milk teeth and as they grow so the milk teeth drop out and are replaced by the stronger adult teeth capable of chewing flaming great chunks out of furniture and the odd postman or two.
Reply:No my dad breed dogs when i was little i never seen none of them lose teeth.
Reply:All dogs, as puppies go through teething and loose their teeth and they grow back, just like real babies, but it happens much earlier, so if the pup is 5months old, maybe you should have a vet check it out...
Reply:It's normal if they step out of line.
Reply:yes, they are just like little kids, they lose their puppy teeth so that their adult teeth can grow in! do not fret, it is okay... they should all be done soon! just make sure that they are all coming out and that no adult teeth are trying to grow over the puppy teeth (the puppy teeth would have to be pulled if this happens!) hope all goes well and good luck with your new puppy!
Reply:Yes. All puppies lose thier teeth at 5 or 6 months of age. He will be fine. Give him some chew bones to chew on. It will help alleviate his pain. It hurts them just like it hurts human kids. The chew bones will help his adult teeth grow in too.
Reply:All puppies and kittens loose there teeths just like human children do. Wait until you step on one!!! :)
