How many teeth do puppies have at 5 weeks?

We just bought a golden retriever at 5 wks old. The mother had stopped feeding her and the owner wanted the puppies out.

We think she looks more like 8 weeks old. Her vet appt is in 2 weeks. How can we find out how old she is?

Wait for the vet.5 weeks is very young for a ***** to wean her puppies if she was feeding them previously. It makes me wonder if the breeder was being completely honest.Maybe she/he was afraid to lose a sale and thought a younger puppy would be more appealing. If youre worried, call the vets office and see if you can get in sooner.
Reply:ask the previous owners what date were the puppies born ?
Reply:the vet should be able to tell
Reply:Although I am a cat person, I believe puppies are born with all their teeth. Just take the puppy to Petco or Petsmart. I don't know about anywhere else, but the Petco's in California are really knowledgeable, and really try to help. Good luck!
