Is it normal for a female dog who just had puppies bear her teeth in her sleep?
im not sure if its normal but i dont think its anything bad...mayb shes dreaming about protecting her pups...

how sweet
Reply:She's dreaming...
Reply:she's probably dreaming of the SOB (yes pun)that made her that way LOL or just glad (smiling) that it's over!!!!
Reply:if she seems otherwise healthy and is eating i wouldnt worry
Reply:Well, I really don't like to see anything like that because it could be a temperament issue with the dog, but sometimes a lack of vitamins will make them very ornery and in fact such a lack can become very dangerous when they are nursing. I would give her some extra calcium (hopefully with magnesium) and see if that makes any change in her behavior, if this where my dog and litter.
Reply:aww the saying really is true..to grin and bear it....lol.......i vote for the person that said they are prolly happy its over, or thinking about the person that caused it, and them getting theirs lol...

i think it might be a protective thing for the first few days, if you want, you could try to put her in her own private area, that way they are more secure, with water and food, and let her out as she needs it. most dogs/cats prefer that kinda thing after having a litter.
