My puppy bit me in the leg and started bleeding. Shes been acting agressive towards me. What can I do???

so my puppy LOVES playing and shes REALLY hyper. One of her playing activities are getting everyones shoes, mostly mine. So she started playing with my pjs and she ripped them. I kept pushing her away and say NO, but she wouldnt listen. She would go right back. I tried getting her off, grabbing her leash and patting her head to get my attention, but during this, she would try to bite me and she even barked at me. So, when she went at me, I smacked her. Hard even enough to get my attention. I didnt want to but I had to stop her, especially after her teeth sank into my leg and started bleeding. Shes been acting really different. I put her in her kennel after that for a couple of hours. She slept through the whole time until she wanted to go outside and do her stuff. How can I teach her to stop what shes doing? Shes been growling at me when she gets something shes not suppose to get and when I grab her when my mom wants to pass. She even tried to bite my wrist. WHat can I do? I need help!

i,ve had this problem before.. i had to dominate her,,a dogs instinct is living in a pack,,there is always a dominant, or leader , right now she is pushing to be the leader of "her" pack you guys! always check with mom first before trying anything with an aggressive animal, i had to push her down %26amp; kneel over her holding her head to the floor telling her to stay! any time i would go to get up if she moved, i would stay on her saying stay until when i got up she wouldnt try to,,well it worked but having a puppy is very important to keep the role as pack leader or she'll try to take over again ,lots of love %26amp;lots%26amp;lots of consistan training will help by getting her used to a routine,,oh by the way chewing on peoples stuff? well keep a favorite toy of hers handy %26amp; when you see her trying to play with something she shouldnt get the toy , tell her no as youget the shoe or whatever and give her her toy,,remember she might be teething and need to chew to help,,

hope this helps !!!

Reply:what kind of dog? i raise pit-bulls and you cant let them be the boss! once in a great while you can just end up with a mean dog! my Friend is a dog trainer!and even she ends up beating the **** out of some of the mean ones! you may try obedience class! if it continues you may have to put it down!!!!!!!!
Reply:dont put it down. have you been very affectionet to her lately? maybe you dont look so familar and she thought you were atacking her. also try giving her lots of treats and rewards.
Reply:She is a PUPPY for goodness sakes! She is at the age where she should still be with her littermates learning to socially interact and there are adults in your family actually considering MUZZLING her? How come I have lived with every breed or mix of dog, primarily the evil Doberman Pinscher and never, in over fifty years, had to even own a muzzle and you get some little mix lab and golden puppy at two months of age and are considering muzzling it?? Maybe you needed to learn about dogs and actually dealing with dogs before obtaining one? You would go out buy a motorcycle and take it for a ride without ever having found out about them and learned to deal with one? Likely not but you would get a living creature and know nothing about it... Please find a trainer in your area that can TEACH you and your family or whoever the responsible adult is in charge of this puppy, to behave properly while not abusing it with things like muzzles, scaring it, hurting it or whatever other nonsense people might tell you. She isn't aggressive -- she is a PUPPY -- puppies use their mouths to explore their world and interact with their world. You are 'smacking' a puppy... sort of like whacking an infant dearie... if you can't control yourself around the dog and your parents can't see that you should not be abusing the poor thing, maybe take it to a local shelter so a suitable home can be found for it where it will not be abused and then never get another living creature again.... maybe a gold fish but I am not certain about that... certainly nothing like a dog or cat or child though.

add: I just reread your post .. just take her to the local shelter for rehoming dear. Do what is best for her as this is not a good situation for any puppy/dog.
Reply:A 2 month old PUPPY, and you're already considering a muzzle?! A muzzle won't teach her anything. It'll just prevent her from doing it, and once you take it off, she'll do it again. Try TRAINING her. When she starts biting you, immediately give a firm no and turn your back to her. Ignore her until she calms down. If she still persists, firmly say no, and leave the room. Shut the door if you can. Don't smack her. That's no way to train a puppy and will probably just make her think it's more of a game. Perhaps you should read up on dog training and take her to obedience classes once she's old enough.
