Puppy Need Answers!?

How do i teach my puppy im the boss and im the leader? Also what can i do to massage her gums i can notice some uncomfortableness and she really want to teeth she teeths on toys and raw hide, and sometimes bites my ankles. I tried giving ice, but it didn't work. What im asking is is there anythign i can do to make her gums feel better? So she wont bite me.

dont feed ur dog before u and ur family eat. the alpha dog always eats first the the rest of the pack get the scraps. dont let ur dog go above ur head, wether u r lying on the grass or in bed, sitting on the couch. as a puppy, she will nip and play that is just normal. i have always found that if in play the pup gets to rough i bit them on the ear until u hear a little yelp, not to hard. that is what a mother dog does to her pups and it seems to work for me to. good luck
Reply:I have dogs too. The best way to instill discipline is constant "teaching" of commands. It takes time and patience to make your pet treats you as his master. But I believe if you make it on a regular basis the dog will recognize you as his master. 30 minutes to 1 hr every other day is ok... learn to give rewards/treats too whenever he follows your command.





My dog loves it when I play around with her. I use stern voice to scold her if she did something wrong. Like if she pee anywhere, I hold her nose near the pee and gives her an angry voice "NO"... When she bites furnitures, I also hold her nose to that furniture and again used an angy "NO" to her... eventually she gets it.





Playing like biting is something they love to do... I use the same formula and my dog understands that already.

Reply:The ear biting thing works... depends on the breed. Many dogs are naturally hyper active, being puppies their energy is on overload. A good way to calm them is to talk to them very quietly. Another good way to show her you're the boss, is every time you go outside, you go first, make the dog wait. Dogs will rush out the door when they're in command, showing they're Alpha. Try taking pieces of her food and training her to do little things. This is great in training her to listen and please you, ensuring that you're the Alpha 'dog'. Also, a good helper with teething, put her toys in the freezer first, a pet store should have a puppy brush, it's soft plastic like what you would use on a child and slips on your finger and you can massage her gums that way. I've found that icing the toys helps a lot though. She'll naturally want to bite, be sure to give her the same command every time and instead of yelling at her, focus her attention on something else, that's the best way, positive training. When she listens, give plenty of pats and 'good girls's'. Also, when training, a dog's attention span is only about 15 minutes, any longer sessions and she'll just forget what you've taught her.
Reply:wet an old washcloth in water,and put it in the freezer.once it's frozen,give it to the puppy.it should make her gums feel better,do this regularly !! rawhide is not the best thing for her.i stopped giving that to my dog!! he would choke on it,because he would try to swallow the whole thing !!
Reply:you need to get her a bone! My puppy is 10 months and she was going through that and we get buying her bones and she got better! Also, if you take her for walks and she pulls you buy her a choke chain and when she pulls you jerk her back and say NO! - hope this helps!
