When does a puppy stop growing?

I don't know if any of the same members were here about 4 months ago when I brought home a little puppy. Her exact parentage was not known, so her breed was in question. A few of you thought it would be much easier to tell her breed when she was older and asked if I would post a picture of her later...

Here are a few links to her then and now.... and I can say that at 5 months she is over 40 pounds. Any ideas when a bigger dog stops growing. I have 2 mini weinie dogs that seemed like they never grew so the growth in this puppy is amazing.

Anyway, regardless of what breed she is, she is very kind and gentle (and hyper). Our Vet said she could get up to 35 pounds, and now at almost 45 pounds and just getting her adult teeth (her exact birthdate is also unknown)....

When does a puppy stop growing?
At 5-6 months, the average large breed puppy is about half of her weight. Your puppy is probably going to be around 80-90 pounds as an adult. Expect her to grow significantly until 8 months, at which the growth spurt will end. From 8-12 months, the dog will continue to grow slowly. At around 12 months (but not always), the dog will have reached its adult height. The average large breed dog will continue to fill out from between 2-3 years.

Oh, I see the pictures. WOW, she's a very pretty dog! I'd say some type of Pointer mix...

remove the [IMG] so we can find photos ,,,,,thanx
Reply:I believe once they are a year old, they are full grown. Their weight will vary over the years, and their fur may change due to climate change.
Reply:She sure is a cutie :) My guess is a Dalmation/Pointer mix

She will probably keep growing and filling out till around 18 to 24 months old.
Reply:She looks like a dalmation/labrador mix, what a gorgeous dog!!!

Large breeds usually reach full size around 10 months to a year and then will put on additional weight in the 2nd year.

She sure is pretty though, looks like you got a good one!
