My puppy is 4 months old. He is very bad. He has like 5 toys to teeth on and he decides to chew on me and my family's shirts, fingers and pants. i say NO firmly and i tap him nose and i kinda push him away. he barks when someone is eating we hit the couch and it makes a loud noise we say "NO ROCKY" (his name) and he just keeps barking. What do we do?? im begging you please help! Thanks guys!

Puppy problems?
I dont know about the barking problem but i know the biting problem! people post this tons of time and everybody should know PUPPYS ARE TEETHING! why because they need to loose they baby teeth and get adult teeth it happens to everyone
Reply:My dog does this all of the time! She is almost three and has been to about 4 dog trainers and each time she improves and then slides back into her old habits about a week later. But she is sort of getting better. Try a good trainer though it will probibly work.
Reply:don't drown him. you don't want to go down that road. once you drown one of them you just can't stop.
Reply:well when you do that he obviously thinks your playing so it's causing him to get excited. YOu should not let him bite on fingers and remove him from pants by prying his mouth off and replacing whatever he was chewing with one of his toys, puppies teethe so you should get some rubber nyla bones he can chew on. If he's barking he needs to be removed from the room and placed either in his crate or confined to the kitchen. If he's barking try spraying with a water bottle each time he barks and saying quiet. Enough sprays in the face he'll soon stop.

They say reward good behavior ignore unwanted behavior. Treat when he's doing well and ignore or remove him from the room, he'll soon learn that if he wants to be with his pack he has to be quiet.
Reply:Your puppy isn't bad he is simply a puppy. I was told to never use the dogs name when you are made or say no, because it makes the dog associate his name with being bad. Anyway, Puppy obedience classes are wonderful. and worth it. My puppy is a little over 2 monthe and he sits, stays, comes to his name, on command. And he's just beggining. Anyway Petsmart, or any other big pet chain probably offers classes. Petsmart here in Idaho, it's $109.00 and starts when the dog is 10 weeks. And it's for life, so if your dog regresses, you can take them back and they will reteach the dog 4 free. They will also cover any problem areas you have with your dog, such as biting. My puppy does all of those things too. Also, when you push your dog away, they think you are wanting to play more.
Reply:Biting:

I had the same problem with my golden retriever at that age. I read that yelping when she bit me would really surprise her and make her stop. We tried it and it worked beautifully. That's what other pups do when a littermate is playing too roughly.

Barking:

We put baby gates up to keep her in the next room. Then we completely ignored her. Don't talk to her, don't make eye contact. By saying anything, you are recognizing the dog for doing something bad. That's exactly what they want...attention.

Good luck! The first few months are pretty rough...especially when you're trying to train them well. Keep it up. It's different for each breed, but my girl settled down at about 8 months. She still has lots of energy, but it's no longer annoying or destructive.
Reply:your doing it the hard way.. when he chews something he shouldnt say firmly NO then replace it with a toy.. as for barking you simply say no firmly and put him in a five minute time out.
Reply:Once he gets his permanent teeth he will not be such a Rowdy Rocky. They feel left out if you are eating something that smells good to them. My dogs are spoiled if it isn't bad for them i give them a bite or two. Raw carrots are good to give them to chew on. My dogs love the baby carrots.
