Do puppies loose teeth like children do?

At around three months of age the baby teeth will begin to loosen, this is when you will notice your pup begins chewing alot more.Several weeks to a month later the teeth will begin to be replaced by the adult teeth. Most all dogs have their adult teeth all in at around seven months of age.Dogs will still do alot of chewing for a bit longer,as it helps set the teeth in the socket.

Do puppies loose teeth like children do?
I'm 98% sure they do. Kittens do loose their milk teeth, they are so small they usually swallow them without noticing.
Reply:yup, they call them "puppy teeth." They get adult teeth around 6 months
Reply:Yes, they do. You'll step on these sharp little teeth with your barefeet and yelp! LOL Truly, they are so small, you won't see them in the carpet.

I've picked up my puppies teeth and have saved the ones I've found. The rest? I think the vacuum got.
Reply:yes, they do... and you should take them to the vet around the time that you spay/neuter her/him and have any that have not fallen out removed because they can rot and cause bad breath and all sorts of mouth problems
Reply:Yes, usually when they are a few months old. Mine did. Thank God. Those little teeth were lilke razors!
Reply:Yes, alot of times a vet can best determine a dogs age by there teeth.

Your Puppy's Teeth

Your puppy is born without teeth, but by the time he is 3 weeks old, he will start getting his baby teeth. Very quickly, when he is about 4 months old, the baby teeth will start to fall out – just like yours did – and be replaced by his adult permanent teeth. This might be a little uncomfortable for your pup and he may want to chew a lot more.

These are the teeth your dog has:

# Incisors. These are the front teeth.

# Canine teeth. These are the pointed teeth next to the incisors.

# Premolars. These are the teeth next to the canines.

# Molars. These are also called the cheek teeth.

Puppies lose their teeth in the following order:

# First the small front teeth come out.

# Then the premolars just behind the canines.

# Then the molars in the back come out.

# Finally the canine teeth come out.

If your puppy's gums are hurting him, there are some things you can do to help.

# Have your mom make some ice cubes made from chicken soup and give them to your puppy to chew.

# Soak a clean rag in water, wring it out and then freeze it (rolling it up helps) and give it to your puppy to chew on.

# Soften his dry food with a little bit of warm water.

Don't let your puppy bite on your arm or hand for comfort. He should chew on his chew toys. You may occasionally find one of his teeth, but he will swallow most of them as they come out.

Your Adult Dog's Teeth

Once your puppy is grown, he will have 42 teeth. Someone must help your pup take care of them if they are to stay healthy and clean. This includes brushing them every day, chewing on chew toys to keep them clean and strong, eating healthy food, and visiting the veterinarian for regular cleaning and checkups.

Reply:Puppies do actually lose their teeth! The first to go are typically the incisors - those tiny teeth you see in the front of their mouth. The last teeth to go are usually their canine teeth. More often than not, we don't see them once they've shed, because the puppies usually swallow them and they come out in their stool.

Occassionally, the puppy canine teeth do not fall out and are simply pushed aside by the descending adult tooth. It looks like the dog has two 'fangs', one right beside the other. If this happens, it's best that you get the tooth removed by your veterinarian during the puppy's spay or neuter.

Often, when people refer to 'puppy breath', it's the smell of the puppy's mouth as their losing those teeth. And thank goodness they do - those suckers are sharp!
Reply:Yes, i freaked out the first time i had a puppy i thought it was something i did playing with him. But it makes sense kinda like us humans we out grow our teeth and need bigger ones when we grow.
