My 6-month old puppy just lost a tooth. Is this Normal?

I was just playing w/ my puppy (He's a Dotson / Pekinese mix) when his tooth fell out on the bed. I wasn’t playing tug of war or anything like that. It just fell out. He like’s to play fetch but he doesn’t make you pull his toy out of his mouth. Most time’s he just let’s you have it or drops it in your lap. What should I do? Does he need to go to the vet for this?

All puppies lose their teeth when their adult set is coming in. I found teeth all over the house, although my pup did swallow a few. The best thing for your pup is to give him ice to chew on. This will help soothe his mouth and give him something hard to chew. Make sure he has plenty of chew toys to play with...it will help the new teeth come through and begin strengthening his jaw muscles. No need for the vet for this one. Best wishes to you and your pup!
Reply:yeah they do that,he will get his adult teeth now.
Reply:Yes, very normal, watch where you walk as those little buggers are sharp and stepping on the hurts!!
Reply:dogs lose their teeth and they get better stronger adult teeth. totally normal :) dont worry
Reply:Yes it is! They have baby teeth just like people, and usually grow all of their adult teeth by about 6-7 months of age. If he is a small breed, make sure to keep an eye out for any remaining baby teeth. If they do not fall out on their own, it is very important to have the vet take a look, and possibly have to surgically remove them. Old baby teeth can make the new teeth sick/decay. So please keep watch and make sure that all, especially the baby k9's are out.
Reply:no dogs have 1 set of teeth, sorry
Reply:dogs dont lose there teeth naturally.

they only have one set.

the way dogs loose there teeth is if they fall and hit there mouth, but that doesent happen often. the only other way is if their owner beats the dog, which is probably what you did.
Reply:baby dog, baby teeth. would you take a child to the doctor every time they lose a tooth.
Reply:Yes. Puppies loose them. It is the equivalent of the human being's "Baby teeth".
Reply:Dogs teeth fall out just like humans it'll get adult teeth now.
Reply:Yes it is normal. Eventually they will all fall out %26amp; be raplaced by 'grown up teeth' :-)
