My 8th month old lab puppy has just lost a tooth!!!!!?
Least you asked here. I took my dog to the vet when his first tooth fell out. I felt like a real plonker. (In defence all of my other dogs were adult rescues I had no idea their teeth fell out)
Reply:Of course they loose baby teeth. If it looks BROKEN it may be, otherwise it is just a baby tooth. See vet if there are questions.
Reply:no they are the same as baby's
Reply:Put it under his doggie bed! The fang ferry might leave the little guy a treat!
Reply:Don't worry...puppies lose their baby teeth...you'll probably end up stepping on quite a few in the next few weeks. Nothing to be alarmed about it's perfectly normal...some soft toys will help your pup during this teething time...or a frozen icecube!
Reply:They are just like human babies. They lose all their baby teeth. You usually don't notice it because they often swallow them.
Reply:Your kidding right? Of course they lose their baby tooth, so a new ADULT tooth will grow in it's place... It doesn't hurt them just give chew toys..
Reply:Yep, puppies lose their baby teeth!

If you want to be positive it was a baby tooth and not a broken tooth, just look at the tooth and see if it's whole or in pieces. I can pretty much assure you that it will be a whole tooth--and that it will be replaced soon by a "big dog" tooth!

Alternately, of course, you can take the tooth (and the pup) to the vet to be sure.
Reply:Yeap, they lose their baby teeth. They start growing in their adult teeth at about 6 months old, and once the adult tooth grows in it pushes out the baby teeth, just like in humans.
Reply:Puppies and kittens lose their baby teeth usually starting around 3 months and have lost all of them by 6 months. Their adult teeth will not be as sharp as their baby teeth, which is nice if there are nippers or chewers.
Reply:Yeah they loose teeth dont worry about it.
Reply:Puppies have baby teeth that are also called milk teeth. Just like children, pups can lose them at different ages. I have however, had a dog that broke a tooth on a cow hoof. Look at the tooth closely, it is really really sharp? If so, it is a baby tooth, it not, you maight want the vet to make sure that there is not an infection from cracking a tooth.
Reply:Yes, puppies do lose their baby teeth like humans. Sometimes they do not fall out on their own and must be pulled by the vet in order to accomodate the developing adult teeth.
Reply:put it under his pillow...and the tooth fairy(a poodle)..will leave him a quarter
Reply:don't worry!! This is normal!! my dog lost a bunch of baby teeth when he was a puppy too- this may last a couple months-
Reply:dogs have baby teeth which they loose between 6+8 months.
Reply:yes dogs will lose their teeth just like humans
Reply:All puppies loose their baby teeth and get new, less sharp ones.
Reply:No it's normal those are just his baby teeth and when he's chewing things it might knock them out because they're loose already. My puppy was always losing hers and I found one on the floor once. At one point she hardly had any front ones and she looked really cute and funny, all gumsy.
Reply:Don't worry! Puppies lose their baby teeth, then the permanent one's come in. Unless the tooth looks like it's actually broken, then you'll have to take him, to the vet so he can have it pulled.
Reply:Like humans dogs/puppies also lose baby teeth..

Puppies typically lose their teeth between 4-8 months of age. The molars and premolars will be first and the canine teeth are usually last. You should make sure your little bundle of fluff has lots of toys to chew on, this way your furniture does not get chewed up !!!
Reply:they are called milk teeth. check him out to make sure he is ok but that is probably all it is. chew toys are ok but don't play "tug of war" type game until he's older. enjoy your pup
Reply:Yes puppys loose there teeth just like a baby,it may be a good idea to invest in some of those cold baby teething rings as this will soothe its gums and stop it from chewing your furniture.
Reply:Yes, puppies loose their teeth. It's normal. You just don't always see them. Don't worry, you didn't do anything wrong.
Reply:As many others have stated, yes, puppies do lose their baby teeth to make room for their adult teeth. My pup even had to have two of his baby teeth pulled because they did not come out on their own, and the vet wanted to avoid any problems with the adult teeth underneath.

I do want to reiterate what others have said, though, about checking the tooth and his mouth to confirm that it is not a broken tooth. Because that happens sometimes, too!
Reply:They do lose their teeth. They also can get some pretty rank breath with losing them too. Just keep a eye on him. Also check his mouth every once in awhile. Sometimes the baby teeth don't come out all the way.
Reply:it is normal they should lose all their baby teeth like humans its ok
Reply:They lose their teeth like us.
Reply:This is normal. Dogs have baby teeth %26amp; permanent teeth just like we do. They even teethe like a baby does. Ask your Vet for help if it looks like there is a problem though.
Reply:no he as lost it not broken
Reply:he should see a vet
