Another question on puppy and dog?

Alrighty, so I've got my friend's 4 year-old corgi mix now and my puppy to take care of. At first they were pretty nice to each other just normal sniffing. Then my puppy (12 weeks) will run up to him (my friend's dog) then run away, jump, then bark. At first I just thought she wanted to play and it was okay, then she tries to jump on him. It's kinda funny because she's so much smaller. I've read that all dogs will "hump" other things to show who's dominant. But my friend's dog already clearly told her he was dominant by growling fiercely and partially attacking (just chasing her while showing teeth because she was being quite annoying) her. So my question is, should I let this go on? I'm pretty sure my puppy won't become the dominant one, but what if they get into a fight? It's also becoming quite annoying when she's at times constantly barking at him. Any advice?

Reply:teach the puppy no when she seems to annoy the dog.

also teach the dog no when he shows some threatening action to the puppy.

this will teach the puppy to be careful and the dog that he can't be like that when he gets annoyed. as for the no part, show some form of punishment such as separating them or spray water at them. dogs don't like that as much as cats don't.
Reply:This is normal puppy behavior - puppies play and get crazy.

If you feel it is annoying the other dog, intervene. Say either "QUIET" for the barking, or "LEAVE IT"

I doubt such a young puppy would "fight" - the older dog will put him in his place at some point.

Separate them if necessary. Teach the pup a "LEAVE IT" command.
Reply:The puppy isn't humping, it's just playing. The corgi will tell it who's boss, and then the pup will stop. However, make sure the older dog doesn't really harm the puppy (little snaps don't count).
