My puppy is vomiting about once a day!?

Usually it is after you feed him about 10 mins to a half hour. The food looks like it wasn't chewed. My puppy is about 5 months old and he is up to date on shots. He whimpers right before he gets sick. Other then that he seems to be fine. We haven't changed his food he still gets purina. He has been doing the vomiting off and on since we got him. But just in the last few days he really has been doing it quite a bit. He does drink water all day long so I don't think he will become dehydrated. But I'm worried about his health. He also is teething. He teeth are fulling out atleast once a day one is falling out. For about the last week or so. And helpful suggestions or solutions plz. No haters....I'm here because I want to help my puppy. He has a vet appointment next wednesday....

My puppy is vomiting about once a day!?
moisten the food, change the food, try giving him small amounts of it at a time, or maybe until the appointment try giving him some formula, or wet dog food so he doesn't get malnourished. Give him small bits at a time, and see what happens. Let him out before, and after he eats. Some food doesn't agree with certain dogs. No matter how good the brand, try something else. Best of luck and I hope he gets feeling better.

Reply:its usally becaus they eat too fast..my dog vomits when she needs to go to the bathroom, make sure you let him out after he eats..and it might just be a flu
Reply:Oh my gosh!!! Poor pup! You should ignore your appointment and run on over to the vet HOSPITAL as soon as you can. This does not sound good!! OH!!! I've always had a soft spot for animals!! I say rush over there now!!! I hope he gets better!
Reply:what are u feeding him??
Reply:Is he eating too fast? Perhaps you could give him smaller portions throughout the day.
Reply:I would try mixing water with his food and letting it sit and get soft before feeding him because the non-chewed peices may be getting stuck above the stomach entry. You may also try feeding him less depending on his size and the amount you are feeding him now because he may just be gorging himself. If either of these don't work then you might need to take him to a vet.
Reply:it's probably because he doesn't like your cooking. has anyone ever told you that your cooking isn't fit for a dog?
Reply:change the food, it may be too strong for him, call your vet. Maybe moisten the food for now Iams for puppies was always the best choice for me. I don't know if Beneficial makes a puppy food, but that is what we use now for our 2 yr old dobe. Maybe give him a little amount at a time to see how fast he eats, He may be eating so fast that air is getting inside of his tummy causing him to vomit. Poor puppy. Good luck.
Reply:My dog has the same problem since he was a puppy, and the vet diagnosed him with colitis. He now eats cooked chicken and brown rice with probiotics and enzymes mixed in. He also gets a multi mineral/vitamin every day that also has omega-3 fatty acids. He is a thousand times better. No more vomiting or diarrhea. Good luck!
Reply:i would change his food..i bet you anything he has a sensitive stomach and thats why..plus purina is not good food..sorry..I feed my dog and all my foster dogs Natures Variety..it is very high quality and wonderful. my first foster was a 8 month old black lab mix..would do about the same thing your puppy is doing every day and i didn't know what to do about it. The rescue i volunteer for got on this Natures Variety food and i thought i'd give it a shot. I took him off of Iams for 24 hrs put him on Natures Variety and never had a problem since. It was awesome. Plus he didn't poop as much which was even better!
Reply:he could be eating too fast but seeing as it is happening very often i suggest you see your vet soon.. it could be a very serious warning sign of illness. You should also check the puppy's stool and with any sign of diarrhea it is very important to get him to a clinic fast.
Reply:Hmm you said that right after he eats it happens? well maybe its because of the food he is eating that can sometimes cause what's going on with your pet like my cat we kept feeding him these little treats every once in a while and he got ear mites the vet said that it was because of the treats we were given him so maybe you should switch foods you could always try it who knows it might just work.
Reply:Hello and sorry for your babie!

We had a same problem with our lab.

Final verdict : allergies to all "dog food"

We switched her to homemade BARF.

And never going back!!!! Ever!!!!

Good luck!!!
Reply:It could be that he is eating too fast. Are you feeding him just once a day? This could be the problem and by the time you feed him, he is starving and is eating the food way too fast. Trying keeping food available for him at all times and let him eat at his own leisure.

Keep your Vet appointment and keep an eye on him as well. I hope everything turns out fine for the both of you.
Reply:Make sure you let the vet know about this. I hope it is not a internal problem with the stomach, possibly born with. Since this has been an ongoing problem the vet would be wise to do xrays at least.

It is possible he is gulping down his food too fast and swallowing whole. I encourage free feeding to stop that habit. Always food in the bowl so eats when wants to and not when you think he should! Pups need to munch at will in order to eat enough but not all at once. Try that see if helps.

Good luck and hope nothing bad wrong with your pup.
Reply:It sounds like your puppy is eating to fast. Look for a dog food that has a hole in the middle, it promotes chewing instead of the dog just swallowing it down.

Nutro has a dog food that has hole in the middle and so does Royal Canin. Both are good premium nutritious foods.

Good Luck
Reply:Sound to me like he's eating to fast and the Purina isnt agreeing with him either. Purina is really bad dog food filled with corn and by products. Get some much better food and one that has no junk in it like Canidae or Wellness dog food.

Wellness I know you can get at most Pets store Canidae you may have to look for.

Water down the food will not help this type of problems either. It can just make your dog feel fuller and he may not eat as much as he should.

Change his food and find a bowl that has a raised middle. Its for dog who inhale their food instead of chewing it. As at the pet store.

Good Luck!
Reply:sounds like hes eating too much too fast. if he was really ill then i dont think he would eat at all,so the fact he is eating is a good sign. pups wolf it down but they only have small stomachs wich arent properly developed yet. i think smaller portions and you could try hand feeding him just slow down his eating pace.see if it helps. the teeth falling out are just his baby teeth.nothing to worry about.i have a puppy myself and i know how you feel.we just want them to be happy and healthy and anything other is a worry. but you should really take him to a vet.just to be safe.they are there to help. and if it is really worrying you ,get an emergency appointment and get it sorted .put your mind at ease..all the best and i hope your pup gets well soon
Reply:Try switching dog foods. Mine was the same way. I switched to wellness and she's put on weight and keeps it down. There's so much fiber Purina. It's made of natural ingredients.
Reply:Also, try and break his meal into parts, my dog vomits if she eats too fast, and that way, break it apart by five minutes to ten minutes, it should help.
