My puppy about 3 months, i need help training in 3 areas!?

1) house training...i have a lot of stairs to get to my front door and he's big enough to climb them (he wasnt when we first got him) but he wont switch to walking up or down them himself...this causes a problem because to house train him every time i see him sniff i would have to run up and down them fast enough to pee, and even so he wont go outside!!!! once i saw him get in the position to pee so i grab him and ran down the stairs and put him in the grass, he sniffed for about 20 mins but would no got so i gave up, we get upstairs and hes peeing! what do i do?

2) biting/nipping...he does do it to hurt just to rough house/have fun but its really hurts because his little teeth are SO sharp! he loves to jump and try to nip your face or eat you hair or gnaw your arm/hand/toes...i try to stop him and sometimes it works but not always

3) my sister got a puppy and hes much smaller/younger and we try to let them play but my puppy is just SO rough and roudy, how do we get him to be calmer?

um, try crate training - that might help you with potty training. and when you get nipped, go AH! or OW! or YIPE! and act all hurt and then move away and end the play session - dont let him start it up again. and if the dog is too small then dont let them play - dont think you can calm him down. good luck
Reply:you did not say how large the dog is but first try the porch area with newspaper until he get the hang of it . Every time he uses it give him lots of praise and a doggie treat. Then play with him on the grass until he has to pee. Then take him to the one spot only. it confuses the dog if he goes to many different area of the yard. Give him praise and a treat, take him out every day at the same time, morning, afternoon, evening and before bedtime. Get him use to the time, area and before long he will be house-trained.
Reply:as for the stairs try walking him on his leash up and down the stairs. When we moved from one house to another one of our dogs hadn't used more than 3 steps at a time (from the porch to the ground) and was freaked out by our basement steps (where the dogs' bedroom is), so we walked her up and down them a few times everyday and she eventually felt safe on them and would run them by herself.

Of course don't drag the puppy up and down the stairs, just have him walk them a few at a time, maybe put treats every few steps to give him something to get to.
Reply:Regarding the biting problem - read this - it will help.
