Puppy Breath!?

My puppy's only 12 weeks old. Besides the fact that he's starting to loose his teeth, he also has a cough [kennel cough] and its giving him really foul breath. I tried brushing his teeth but it doenst do much and he wont chew on a dental bone i bought em. Any ideas?

Puppy Breath!?
you can buy special dog food for him(the kind for dental care), and petstores also sell breath mints for dogs.
Reply:Have you gotten the kennel cough treated? If not, take him to the vet. After this, work on that puppy breath. There are puppy mints sold to combat bad breath.
Reply:get him to the vets asap if he has kennle cough he mite die. and get a tooth brush and some tooth paste your dog will hate you after but BRUSH them hehe my dog huffs to me for like hours wen i do it but it need dun and its funny watching her huff lol xxxx
Reply:He's losing his teeth because they are his baby teeth, his adult ones will begin to grow in during the course of 6 months to a year. As for the breath something like "denta-bones" come to mind though there are much better options that that Im sure.
Reply:Try raw, meaty bones. Look up a prey-model raw diet for more information, but basically, stripping meat off of a bone (raw) can REALLY help clean dogs' teeth. You can also come to the Raw Food Diet forum on Dogster.com for more help.
